Burkhardt Bélaváry István: (1864 - 1933): Festő. 1864-ben született. Tanulmányait Bécsben kezdte, majd Amerikába ment, 1890-ig San Franciscoban a School of Artban tanult. Európába visszatérve 1895-96-ban Münchenben Azbenél, 1897-98-ban Párizsban Colorissinál képezte magát. Hosszabb firenzei tartózkodás után hazatérve, a fővárosban és Debrecenben tevékenykedett. Végül Pozsonyban telepedett le, ahol festőiskolát működtetett.
