Béla Uitz (1887-1972): red soldiers forward!. Screen print. It was made in 1979 in 130 copies by the Pest workshop: Imre Bak, János Fajó and István Nádler. Compilation: jános fajó. Print size: 38x57 cm, carrier/sheet size: 50x68 cm.

The original poster was made in 1919, at the Seidner poster and label factory, measuring 1.86 x 1.36 m. Uitz's work is one of the emblematic works of Hungarian poster art and Hungarian art history. The poster is a kind of summary of the highest efforts of the previous decades. Uitz's highly expressive form language, monumental-looking male figures depict the collective will and the strength and momentum of workers' power.

The Pest workshop was founded in 1974 by artists János Fajó, Imre Bak, András Mengyán, and István Nádler under the auspices of the Józsefváros Cultural Center in Budapest. Their workshop was created not only for the perfect production of their own reproduced graphics, but also to make the works of their spiritual predecessors, such as kásás and bortnyik, available in the form of reproductions. One of the means of promotion was the compilation of folders of screen prints. Several important screen folders were made in the workshop, including the works of the Russian Constructivists, the Eights and activists, but also a series of works by artists considered the classic masters of the Hungarian avant-garde, including dezső Korniss, Tamás Lossonczy, and Ferenc Martyn. The creative community of the Budapest (Pest) workshop operated until 1988.
