1933-36 között Aba-Novák Vilmos szabadiskolájában tanult. 1937-ben elnyerte a Collegium Hungaricum római ösztöndíját. Az évtized második felében a szolnoki művésztelepen dolgozott. 1943-44-ben Erdélyben, majd 1947-48-ban Párizsban járt tanulmányúton. 1949-1952 között a budapesti Iparművészeti Főiskolán tanított.
